I recently scored a set of 100% cotton sheets at a thrift store for under $8, and honestly, they’ve become one of my best frugal finds.
After two washes and a baking soda refresh, they came out brighter, and softer than the budget sheets I bought new online.
Now, I know full well that thrift stores can also mean death to frugality, but every once in a while I'll chance at some really good finds that are miles ahead in quality of what you’d expect for that price.
What thrifts caught you by surprise with their real value?

Nice! I got 2 sets of bamboo sheets like they sell at furniture stores for $5 each. I googled and they’re like $175 new! They are cooling and great for summer.
Congrats!! I need to check out the sheets more to replace my shitty one’s! My favorite is my zojirushi water heart ♡ I thrifted her for $12 I think some time ago, and she’s perfect. She’s apart of my coffee routine every morning! Aero press and hot water on tap ♡
My ex found a scuffed-up pair of nice-looking men’s Oxfords for $10, that just needed a good buffing and polishing up. He brought them home, googled the manufacturer, and lo and behold those shoes retailed for $600!
They ended up not quite fitting him, but once he cleaned them up they looked as good as new, and he gave them to his brother, who wore them to get married.
Even if i didn’t need to save money, I’d still buy my sheets at thrift stores because that way i can tell if they’ll pill. Pilling sheets is a sensory nightmare for me. Plus, being older means more likely to be the quality that doesn’t pill. I’m sincerely worried that some day i wont be able to find fabrics that dont pill.
