    • What's the purpose of your next card? Travel. 2 teenagers and both involved in travel sports leaves us no time to really travel right now. My wife and I celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary next fall and I'd like to open something to start building toward that, assuming we even go anywhere, lol. We live in Cleveland, OH so not really a hub for any airline, but United is pretty popular there. I actually work for American Airlines, but not many options out of there on AA unless the destination is DFW or CLT. We've never traveled international. Our youngest broke his collarbone last week and had surgery so I figured I'm going to have quite a bit in medical bills to pay so I might as well look at opening a new card since I could easily make the spend limit for the SUB.
    • Do you have any cards you've been looking at? Chase Sapphire Preferred or CapitalOne Venture X. I travel for work but I don't know if I would make use of the lounges when I'm on the road unless they allow standby passes to get in. The Sapphire Reserve AF seems stupid high and where we are now in our lives I don't think we would make use of the benefits.
    • Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card? I use my Chase Freedom Unlimited (~$4k/month) general spending and dining, and my wife uses her Citi Double Cash (~$2k/month) for general spending. CO Savor I use for cashback gifts through online vendors (helpful around Christmas) and food when I'm on the road, and the rare MLB game. AmEx BCP is used for groceries, gas, and streaming subscriptions. We generally always go the cashback route because our kids' sports schedules are crazy. We haven't taken a vacation in 4 years so there has been no need for a travel card or points builder.

Any particular benefits or perks you want from the card? What hotels do you guys usually stay in while traveling for sports?
