Hello, I got a refund from a scholarship that I don't really need and would rather save for an emergency situation. And, I wanted to open a HYSA with my bank (M and T), but if I don't have 10,000 in the account they take 20$ a month, so that's a no. I'm trying open an account at a bank that has a good student credit card/ regular credit card that I could open in the future even though I already have an m ant t bank secured card. Banks I've been looking at currently are capital one and discover.

    1. I like my Amex. Not the best rate on the market but decent otherwise.

Might check out Robinhood Gold too. They advertise decent rates but I don’t know any of the strings attached.

    2. Not sure about Capital One, but Discover HYSA is good. 3.5% APY (No Fees). Though it is all online, no physical branch to withdraw funds.

Their Student Credit Cards (rotating 5% categories quarterly) is pretty solid as well.

Why not open a Fidelity brokerage account and use SPAXX as the HYSA and start investing in some ETFs as well?
