Hello!
I’ve been applying for SCRA benefits with all of our creditors under Ohio State Law (it extends the federal benefits to debts incurred while in active service) and Capital One, Navy Fed, Apple have all processed everything. I have another creditor who denied the benefits because of federal law NOT the Ohio law. I sent all documentation they needed for proof of active service and proof that Ohio is our home of record and I’ve called them
to get to the bottom of it and they just keep telling me I’m not eligible because the account was opened after the start of active duty service and that they did review it under Ohio State Law (they did not lol, if they did they wouldn’t be telling me what they’re telling me). I have a call in to navy legal, but I’m wondering if anyone else has gone through this and what the process looked like with a legal case and what the resolution was and maybe even a timeframe? Thanks!

You’re welcome to hire a lawyer and file a civil lawsuit. It’ll likely take years.
Your time is honestly better spent attacking this debt so it’s not an issue anyway.
