Peloton has entered yet another “reinvention phase,” this time draped in the language of artificial intelligence. The company has introduced Peloton IQ, a supposedly 'AI-powered' upgrade that folds computer vision & algorithmic coaching into its bikes & treadmills: counting reps, critiquing form, & offering data-driven encouragement to a user base that’s been eroding since the pandemic peak. In tandem, Peloton unveiled a Peloton Pro line aimed at commercial clients gyms, studios, hotels: an admission that the 'connected home fitness revolution' didn’t quite scale as envisioned. Having exhausted the domestic market (& goodwill), the company is now chasing institutional buyers who might still find stationary bikes aspirational.
