I wanted to get some people’s opinions on Materials Corporation (MP) and USA Rare Earth Inc. (USAR) in light of Trumps posture change on China and their export restrictions on rare earth materials for magnet production.
Full disclosure- I have 400 shares of USAR at a 20 dollar cost average and have been running the wheel on it for a few weeks. I thought about this situation occurring and it seemed like a good play.
Do people see the US government taking direct stakes in these companies like it did with Intel?
Domestic industrial policy changes being announced to bolster magnetic production here? Or is hoping this reactionary course results in logical policy too much to ask?
What else do people think would benefit off this?

He hasn’t actually done anything. He simply made an announcement it would start November 1st, which is 3 weeks away.
In 3 weeks a lot can happen, and likely will. You have to remember he made a PR statement. Very unlikely this would be policy based on his past tariff announcements.
DOD already has a 15% stake in MP
Have you not been paying attention? You literally talk about one of the stocks that the gov ALREADY just took a stake in. They’ve been taking stakes in mining for a while now.
ICP pissed af
Maybe the TikTok deal is also dead and that shit can be banned instead

Come hang out.
Be clear: he threatened tariffs starting Nov 1. More than two weeks away.
Its a TACO fest.
The dude was mad from the humiliation of not getting Nobel.
By the way Dude, Good job on this. This is where I needed to invest two months ago, but didn’t. I should have. Good play. Just invested tonight. Let’s see what happens.
