Hello! I got into a car accident last Thursday while I was going home from class. A dump truck hit me and ran off. They were hired by the college to clean the yard so I ended up seeing them on the campus again. Campus police pulled up the video and said they were at fault. I got my police report to give to the insurance but the manager for the company gave the police his business card. Told them to tell me to contact him so they can make it right. Should I contact him or just go straight to my insurance? Sorry if this is a dumb question. This is the first time I’ve gotten into an accident.

File a claim with his insurance. If he won’t give you his insurance info then contact your own and file it with them. They’ll get his info and sort him out
You should have their insurance info. You contact your carrier if you have collision coverage and want to have your carrier address (with your deductible) and seek recovery from their insurance. You can see if the owner wants to pay for your damage, that is up to you or you can file a claim directly with their insurance company.
