Hi, I received a bill from my eye doctor and the date is listed as 7/11/2022 which is over 3 years ago.
Here is a picture of the bill with the $125.32 charge from 3 years ago circled in red. It says "Insurance transfer from Vision Service Plan to Patient".
I just had a comprehensive eye exam done which cost me $248.94 which I paid in full at the time of the exam. A few days later I called the eye doctor to order a contact lens refill and they said I couldn't order them unless I paid my outstanding bill. I asked them what it was since I just paid them almost $250 and then they sent me the attached bill.
Can they really send me a bill for 3 years after the fact? I live in New Mexico.

Just pay it or they will send it to collections
Trumpflation
Medical debt under $500 cannot affect your credit score. Something to keep in mind
So what happened with ordering those contacts? You just didn’t pay this extra bill and walked away or….?
