I live in a large (3600sf) fully detached, “townhome” which is part of a condominium community. My neighbors are over 50 feet away.

The exterior and roof are maintained and covered by the HOA and the interior is mine.

Since condo insurance was either limited to too low coverage or crazy expensive for adequate coverage, I bought an HO3 policy covering roughly 50% of the rebuild cost (The HOA should cover the structure).

Am I in any danger of a claim being denied due to having HO3 on what’s legally (but not structurally ) a condo? I realize I might be a little under insured but Im ok with that.

You might want to consult with an independent agent. My understanding is that it can get sticky when you have an HO3 instead of an HO6 on a townhome. My independent agent was able to get me 500k on my townhome when company agents were limiting me to 200k which wouldn’t go very far.
