When gas prices go up. Every single thing that has to be moved by truck or van is going to be more expensive. Period.
Raise the price of flour, bread will be more expensive. Period.
Put tariffs on anything, the price will go up.

I don’t need evidence to know that, in a for profit market, raising the cost of a product for a seller will raise the cost of the product for a consumer. That the seller would eat the change in price for more than an extremely short period of time, and only then to look noble to their consumers (aka, good PR and marketing), was always pure fantasy.
When they inevitably raised prices they all then said some variation of, “We kept prices low as long as we could! FOR YOU”

I am not getting Xmas gifts this year. The nieces and nephews will get some “cheap” (now expensive) toys like always, but adults are not getting anything including the wife.

Companies have been slow rolling the price increases. Wait until earning results come in post holiday shopping into Q1. The market will decline guaranteed.

I never thought I’d see the day when supposedly “conservative” voters cheer on import taxes. It seems like I’m one of the few actual conservatives left. This shit isn’t small government or free market, why does everyone seem to support it?
