They found the infinite money glitch. Cut people’s welfare. Same people support you as they swing more far right. You get to cut more welfare and rinse and repeat

Sadly that makes sense when you understand the mindset of I am deserving of government assistance as a natural born citizen in my part of the country. People who I deem as the other don’t deserve any of what is owed to me. Of course they have to cut my assistance to keep the others from stealing it. So I’m gonna vote for people to keep cutting it until the others stop stealing what is mine.
Despite all the evidence of who is truly benefiting from these programs by and large.

Ironic when the reality of the global economy relies on the masses being able to buy their daily needs. The house of cards we have built upon this, of services and investments also requure disposable capital. Greed and division will be the ruin of us all. Like yeast our expansion requires poisionous byproducts that will limit our growth and may yet kill us all. Bald monkey is an idiot, we can do better than this.

You can have any view you wish on the UN but for me, I am utterly done with it entirely.
We pushed aggressive austerity ***because*** **of the UN, the World Bank and the IMF***.* Austerity and welfare cuts was their economic policy and they forced countries to adopt them. They made Greece do it twice and they made them do it the second time even *after* the first time had already backfired, the Golden Darn were on the up, and everyone in the country was as depressed as the economy.
Why has it taken them nearly 20 years to say this? We’ve had decades of research, date and advocacy on the issue of inequality. The UN itself has championed the notion of inequality globally so why is it that its really taken decades to have them say out loud the issue every economists and their mother knew? Why has it taken a billion dollar entity with some of the highest wages in the entire world (all tax free by the way) to confirm what postgraduate researchers on minimum wage were able to figure out?
Let’s also not overlook the gigantic elephant in the room which is the UN exists as a direct result of economic depression, inequality, and greed during the 1930’s? Did we all somehow forget very recent history?
The rise of the far-right, the return to nativism and Hobbesian discourse is because the UN has been not only complicit in power politics, but a facilitator of it. Just like the League of Nations, the UN has proven to be a failure.
I’m not even going to comment on immigration and global economics under the WTO. It’s low hanging fruit at this point.

There is a significant problem people do not realize
countries that have been developed for a long while, need to tax more and more just to keep the same levels of services, simply because society gets more expensive as it suffers from success
a rich country in the 1970s that just reached sub 2 TFR is very young, you dont need to pay pensions to barely anyone, life expectancy was just a few years above retirement, infrastructure is all new so it needs very little maintenance, and such a youthful populations require little expenditure on healthcare
now, after 50 years everything is old, we live on average 20-25 years after retirement vs 10 before, the population is so much older that you need to spend 3, 4, 5 times more on healthcare JUST to keep the same level, everything reauires repairing, maintenance…
people see themselves more taxed than ever but having less services, but the thing people dont realize is that, while yes, a lot of this is the fault of lobbies, politicians etc etc, the majority of the reasons why the country seems more unfair than ever is because we have been too successful for too long!
The far right wont fix it, the left wont fix it either, because this degeneration is structural and IMPOSSIBLE to change, you can improve it sure, but it becomes harder and harder over time to maintain the same standard of welfare for no fault of anyone
The only long term solution would be for all developed economies to cooperate together in tandem to raise taxes on the ultra wealthy, because otherwise any given country doing this would be a disaster, but good luck getting Japan the US, france and poland to agree on something

The biggest fuel to this fire is lack of education and The US gutting the Department is scary to say the least but we have to inform our own people.
