36 years with Company. Last 12 in C Suite. It is like a weight off my shoulders to finally announce. I’ll tell my team next week.

People always told me you’ll know when it’s time. I knew two months ago so it is great to have a peace about it.

Very thankful to retire with a pension, 401k and a SERP. 401K is only thing still available for new hires so I’ve been fortunate.

Just told my boss this morning that I’m retiring in March

Congratulations! Awesome! Thats a long time.

6 months after I got hired they increased the pension retirement date from 55 to 62 for all new hires. I just made it. One more year!

Same reason I stick with my employer now. Having a second monthly income in retirement that pays 2-3x as much as Social Security would be reassuring.

Welcome to the other side!! The remaining days at work, knowing you will be exiting soon, should be very easy to deal with. I had a permanent smile on my face when I gave notice of my retirement. My team was in shock when I told them, but I have enjoyed this first year of retirement immensely. I would not change it for the world.

Take time to decompress and then start to pursue your passions once you recharge!! Congrats…

I am planning on pulling the plug in June. I am planning to tell my boss next month. It is a very small company that is already understaffed, so I didn’t want to surprise them.

Congrats – go fuck yourself! I’m going to beat you by retiring the end of this month.

I did the same at the end of 2021. Unfortunately, I was ready to curl up and die of boredom by mid 2022 so I found a great job and I’ve been living happily ever after since.
