Alright, haven’t made a post in years but I’m just looking for advice on what to do to progress and start earning or building something visible.
I used to make the mistake of building out websites and everything before testing markets and selling the service I’m trying to sell. However, even with that improvement, I have failed at a clothing brand, snow removal service, moving service, brand scaling (currently still doing a little bit as a local business owner is paying me to make him a website and new facebook), ai automation, you name it honestly. Most of these never even made it past development.
Over the years I’ve learned how to build socials and websites quick and how to utilize different sms and email marketing tools but I’ve had little to no success using them. Seems like my offer is never good enough or I never seem to get to the right people.
I currently work at Mcdonald’s full time as a manager while perusing my Computer Science Degree online. I’ve gotten into the gym and reading this last year which has taught me the real effects of being consistent but I don’t know what to stick with or what skills I actually possess to sell. Any advice would be appreciated!

At 22, it sounds like you’ve got more experience that most will ever get at attempting to launch a successful business venture. I say keep at it, with time will come wisdom and momentum… the road is long. I launched my own first venture at 38, and it’s now 10 years old. Still surviving, and growing steadily. Hitting the gym, reading and constantly focusing on self improvement is definitely wise… I’ve heard some wise entrepreneurs say that your 20s are for the learnings and mistakes, 30s are for building,…. but there’s no single set rule.
Many people try various things before gaining success. You’re leaning different skills as you do, at least I hope you. I would start with what you find actually interesting to do, then stick with it for at least 3-6 months before giving up. My thoughts are you’re not putting enough reps in / talking to enough people before saying it’s not working
Here’s a question, for you, why do these ventures stop? Is it lack of motivation? Unclear direction? None of the ideas you said are inherently bad. So the first thing to address is why all of the change in direction.
Keep ai it! Keep learning! Keep reading! And keep asking for help. You are on the right path and you are only 22.
One advice: before building anything, always do customer discovery. Always. And do it properly. You’ll thank me later.
Onwards and upwards!
Find a good company and work them for a year, just learn from real business owners
