I am considering a job with a company that is only able to employ people in certain states for tax reasons.
I want to live in North Dakota but it is not a state they operate in. They do operate in Minnesota.
According to this:
https://www.revenue.state.mn.us/reciprocity
Minnesota and North Dakota have a reciprocity agreement for state taxes.
Does this mean I can live in North Dakota and somehow declare I’m working for the Minnesota branch of my company and keep both myself and my potential employee out of trouble regarding taxes?
Thanks in advance for being way smarter than I am.

You can generally live anywhere, but you have to work in one of their approved states. You would still pay North Dakota income tax while working in Minnesota. The “tax reasons” refer to corporate tax, unemployment tax, needing to register in each state, etc.
Bigger issues than taxes, such as paying into state Workers Comp and Unemployment program.
