Is November/Black Friday a good time to buy a cell phone? Needing a new one soon and not sure when is the best time to buy.

I will soon need a new phone and am an iPhone enthusiast. However, for the past almost 10 years my work has paid for my phone as it’s a combined work/personal phone so I’m not up to date on the best way to go about purchasing a new iPhone. Are there decent sales on older models this time of year that I should capitalize on, or are the deals just “meh” and not worth prioritizing between now and the end of the year? If it matters, I’ll be joining a family member’s Verizon plan.
