I know this might not be completly healthy, but each time I'm out and about with my friends and they buy something unnecessary/expensive and I stop myself from doing the same, I get like weird dopamine rush and I'm just happy.

Or when I'm hungry and instead of going for the expansive fast food/takeout I just stop at my local lidl and buy something there.

I also have this finance app where I input my whole networth there and I just love to watch it growing month by month, day by day. Best feeling in the world.

Does anyone else get dopamine rush each time they stop themselves from spending money?

Not necessarily from ‘not’ buying something but I do when I return something. I happen to online binge for clothes a couple times during the year. There is always something that I do need and then I find myself buying things that I don’t need. I also usually buy two of each in different sizes – basically trying clothes on at home and then returning them to the racks. After I buy I start feeling like I spent too much. Then when things don’t fit or I find that I don’t like the item, I get excited knowing that it needs to be returned which means my money gets returned . . . to me. 🙂

I get the same feeling when I buy a cheaper option. Like today I bought a $10 moisturizer instead of $25, and $40 dog food instead of $90. Lesser quality items of course but I have to cut corners this month, and the savings gave me a nice dopamine rush ☺️

    3. Yup I developed a mild addiction to saving, this way.

“Damn I really want some Jack in the box right now”

*As I drive past it instead of buying*

      “Ohhh yeah savingssss”
