This is probably not a sustainable solution but I am so proud of myself being able to stand my ground for frugality.
Context: my company supplies fruits on Tuesday and lunch on Wednesday. Also free coffee daily. I got chicken cup noodles from Costco for about $.75 each. So basically I only spent $1.5 for food yesterday and today. Heated my cup noodles with company microwave with company water and napkins too.
I’m so happy and will continue doing it!
$1.5 spending on food for 2 days and proud of myself

Sparrow appetite no?
I’m hungry after 2 hours if I eat this
Wait til you turn 40.

I eat rice beans and veggies for 3/day. Much more sustainable and healthy.
Frugal doesn’t mean downgrading your quality of life to save money, it’s understanding the worth of what we buy. A bag of rice, dried beans and frozen veg will cost you just slightly more and be so much healthier in the long term. Take care of your health, whatever we cheap out on now can haunt us as hospital bills in the future!
This isn’t a neat savings hack, it’s a one way ticket to major health problems if you do it more than once a week.
How much will you be spending on Healthcare and medication when your body breaks down from long term malnutrition?
People on this sub can be irrational about savings. Frugal is supposed to mean clipping coupons or not doubling up on streaming services, not bragging about starving yourself.
Sounds like you are eating fruit was well which is good! Please do be very careful. Make sure you are eating a sustainable dinner! I barely eat/dont get hungry and I know firsthand its easy to fall into the trap and then I get too thin and look unhealthy. Fueling the body is important and worth at least one “heavy” meal a day!
Way to lean in to taking advantage of favorable situations.
Enjoy it while it lasts.
My former company also offered fresh fruit every day, along with unlimited filtered water, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. ☕️ it’s a nice perk, and I definitely took advantage of it, but please consider your overall nutritional needs. Your body will thank you later.
