I grabbed a cheap box of random screws at a garage sale and it has bailed me out of so many projects. I keep it in the same drawer as my leftover bolts, cords and spare parts, and every time someone visits they tell me I should just toss the whole thing. I never will. That messy drawer has saved me more times than I can count.
Why do people act like a junk drawer is a bad thing? Doesn't everyone have one?
Why do people say junk drawers a bad thing?

I don’t think anyone thinks they’re a bad thing. I think people are more referring to the fact that they’re usually messy and can make it hard to find anything or know for sure what’s in there.
I reject the premise: Who is it going around saying that junk drawers are a bad thing?
Junk drawer has entered the chat.
No..we actually have a few tool boxes for such items and keep them stacked on a self
I mean it depends on what the junk drawer actually is. If you never use anything from it, it’s bad. Our junk drawer contains cake decorating utensils, glues/tapes, random fasteners, air wick stuff, and an assortment of other nonsense that does (albeit infrequently) get used.
