      Hasn’t it always been?

I mean even windows search still doesn’t work properly, much less any of their enterprise products.Β  HyperV breaks for me every single week.

    2. It’s even funnier cuz he and Sam Altman were so goddamn snippy and condescending on that recent podcast with Brad Gerstner where he had the audacity to ask about the enormous mismatch between their revenue and spend commitments

    3. Most of their products are broken and people having some basic knowledge on installation of OS are switching to Linux.

    4. Our highly skilled coders? Forget them, let’s use AI instead, nudging them toward leaving to work for some other company and lose the advantage of expertise!

Wait until we open the whole “agentic OS” can of worms… A trillion will just be the added value for cybersecurity to keep up with all the fires.

Windows 11 was released before they were using ANY AI to code… more redditors with no critical thinking celebrating in this post

Our company incorporated AI and since then we have constant software crashes and issues, but they blame us versus the AI. Nothing has changed but they won’t accuse their darling investment of being the issue

    8. Got back into Linux on the desktop due to Windows 10 EOL, Fedora KDE is pretty fucking solid. The only thing it can’t do is play Fornite, CoD, or Battlefield, but it does everything else. I have a PS5 for those games anyway. I’ve been admining Linux servers since the late 90s, but while I ran a Linux desktop about 10 years ago, I’ve been mostly Mac and Windows for the last ten years. I’m here to say that this REALLY is the year of the Linux desktop, for real this time. Fedora KDE is good enough that I’d choose it over both Windows and MacOS.

Does less is more ever work? Cause I have no idea what this is and I’m starting to think this strategy is working.

    10. Here’s a little insider secret from a developer who’s worked in a number of areas… even the big tech companies are paper tigers. The number of people who actually know their stuff is little and there’s lots of upper management bloat where the people in charge are really embarrassingly tech illterate . (for example, the tech firm of a major, major conglomerate of brands didn’t know what HTML links were). Now imagine these people firing the people who do know it becuase they thiunk an LLM will replace them. It’ll be nothing but fires for all of us to put out. Oh I’m “pro-AI” because I know that it works as an enhancement and time saver…if you are already good at tech. 100% vibe coders are in for a rude awakening and this is only the tip of the iceburg. There will be a mass rehiring to clean up messes. Happened 10/15 years ago when the masssive offshouring of coders to india 20 eyears ago for similar reasons was meet with the sad realization that the code was only as good as they paid for and nobody there knew how to code the then rise of gaming and newer mobile app tech (and early AI).

    11. Imagine trying to make windows β€œagentic” instead of making a new β€œagentic” os basically from scratch
