Loss leaders are big before Thanksgiving, take advantage. It is also the time of year where the grocery stores don’t put out a sale circular on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. In the past years there have been few bargains available afterward too.

    With all of the talk of CostCo, Aldi’s, and Possibly Walmart/Sams Club there can be good buys at a regular grocery store for a savvy shopper. With 5# Flour and 4# Sugar under $2, usually lowest cost of the year for staples.

    Remember to not over buy, watch cash flow, and home storage space plus transportation costs if no vehicle.

    1. Not much was cheaper at all four local supermarkets, as within 25 miles. They are not in competition and their prices are within pennie’s of each other. Folgers coffee was $9.88, but that may be because of the expiration date of February 1st. Turkey was less at 99¢ a pound than $1.49 last week.
