    1. Could be a nothing burger or the beginning of a storm. Everything will depend on the yield numbers.

      China is ahead in AI.
      They started getting ahead in manufacturing in late 80s and now 80% of things around you is made in china.
      Extrapolate this to AI/IT infrastructure, US will end up having advantage only in CDO of a CDO.

    3. A Patterning Patent for a size of just 2 nanometers? It seems that the Chinese really are living up to their small PP reputation.

    4. This method should logically have lower yield numbers with how many extra steps there are to produce a wafer. But what it does imply is that China is still full steam ahead with trying to gain chip independence.

    5. does it even matter? its not like us government even allow us company to buy chinese chip. maybe europe might buy it.

      and rapidus in japan is going to make 2nm too, no one cares.

    6. I know that Intel tried for a long time to do exactly this. I assume they have a pile of patents that would conflict with this Huawei technology. But I don’t know.
