    1. Because they don’t have money. Duh. We have found the cure for mindless consumerism, and it’s poverty.

    2. Title should rather be “Retailers aren’t paying Gen Z enough to spend like they need them to”

    3. The only people with any money are boomers and a handful of older Gen X

Those people are dying and they’re not being replaced.

It’s a huge impending crisis nobody talks about because the only solutions are political and not viable.

    4. First it’s “these kids are wasting their money on avocado toast”, now it’s “they’re not spending enough”. Notice how the framings of these articles are always that the enemy of economic greatness is the worker or consumer (which are the same people…us).

Boomers pulling the ladder up on Gen Z only to shoot themselves in the foot when nobody has money to buy anything.

    6. If only there was a way to get money into the pockets of the people who could be spending it.

    7. Its as if once you extract all the money from the economy no one has any money, weird. As if growth is finite and the capitalist mindset of infinite growth is total bullshit.

It’s amazing what sky-high grocery prices, unaffordable housing and Republican sabotage to the Affordable Care Act will do to people’s discretionary spending.

    9. Because nobody has extra money. But rich people are still okay so everything is fine

      Every generation they say this!

Anyone old enough to remember how the gen X Grunge craze was killing the shopping and clothing industry?

Oh anyone remember all the Miliniales killed this or that industry?

Every generation has different shopping habits

    11. Number one, it costs money.

Number two, all these companies did was shovel money at right wing trash.

    12. I thought retailers were now aiming for the top 10% earners? What do they need GenZ for?

Hey all, I’m a brit. Centre left and have incurable TDS. I watch a bunch of woke, liberal you tube channels. There seems to be vast differences in the the economy news. Some complain that inflation is out of control while others insist its slowing. Some are adamant the US is in recession but labour and gdp seem to be fine. Don’t get me wrong, I would hate to see my American cousins suffer but it feels like without suffering Trump could run again. Are things that bad, or is it the same as maga ripping bidens economy?
