Please don't skewer me for this, i was having a shitty day and just needed to run into a store id never been in on my way home to grab something.
This guy was having issues with the bitcoin machine, him and the employee were talking amd he asked if he could use my phone number just to get a code to get into the machine. I hardcore hesitated, the employee was reassuring me that it was no big deal and the guy's phone had been shut off so he couldnt get in. I agreed because, like i said, super shitty day and i obviously wasnt thinking straight. My boyfriend gave me a bunch of shit about it when i got home, i also shouldve just said no but i feel pretty easily pressured into things.
Tldr: i let someone use my phone number to get a code to access the bitcoin machine, he actually still couldnt log into his account from what i heard as i was walking away, did i just get scammed and is there anything i should be doing now?

I’d just be extra vigilant for a bit. From what you said it doesn’t seem like he did anything, but he could have done something sneaky on the phone without you realizing. It’s just a bit bizarre – why couldn’t he use the store employee’s phone? I’d change password for your most important things then just be extra vigilant for phishing scams.
Others may be able to speak to whether it’s a known scam. This is just my 2c as I’m a beginner in the space.
Don’t feel bad, totally not strange behavior to me if you were tired and just want to be helpful in that moment. But your BF is ultimately right and is being hard on you because he cares and doesn’t want you to get taken advantage of.
I don’t think you got scammed but not learning how or when to say no is a sign of immaturity, your boyfriend may have been harsh but correct
Someone having your number isn’t enough to scam you. It is possible he was trying to circumvent KYC. But the likelihood of this coming back to bite you personally I’d pretty much nill.
