Hi all- I am currently an owner of a private practice that does well. I am opening a side business to provide resources/coaching programs based on my therapist expertise, and I've started a podcast- I have been slowly building all of this (logo, website, podcast, etc) after having a second child.

I am still working out a lot of the kinks- streamlining workflow, executing a social media strategy, inproving SEO on podcast, figuring out the tech side of everything before I launch. etc.

I'm F-ing overwhelmed. It's so many details to figure out along with maintaining my practice and being present with my family. I also want a little bit of down time to work out or read a book!

What do I need to do here? Make more realistic goals per month/year and slow it down?

Pick only one goal per year? (I learned this in a leadership program- for example, focus on gaining exposure one year, product additions the next year, etc)…

I KNOW I have a good plan and I'm on the brink of something very valuable. But the endless to-do list is starting to really wear me down and get me in a place of overwhelm/shut down.

    Help!

    I appreciate any input here.

    Thank you.

I think , you need to look inside of you ask yourself “What I truly want???What is my true goal ?
Do I want to slow down or it’s okay for me??))
      Maybe you need a system
You can write me privately, we can speak

    2. Dude, I feel ya. Juggling multiple ambitions is like spinning plates… it’s tough, no lie. But here’s something I’ve learned: progress over perfection. You can’t do all the things 100% right outta the gate.

Start small, man. Focus on one thing, get it right, then move on. Maybe this year it’s just about fine-tuning your podcast and building a community. That’s cool! Like, some of the best folks in your field didn’t explode overnight and they’re still learning, still growing.

And FFS, don’t forget to breathe and cut yourself some slack! You’ve already accomplished so much, and grinding non-stop ain’t the answer. Chronically overwhelmed isn’t a badge of honor, it’s a fast track to burnout.

So take a step back, prioritize and remember: Rome wasn’t built in a day, mate! Keep your chin up, you’ve got this.

This is so relatable – been there with the endless todo spiral. Honestly sounds like you’re trying to do everything perfectly before launching which is a trap

I’d vote for the one goal per year approach. Get the podcast solid first since that’s probably your best marketing tool for the coaching business anyway. The rest can wait a few months and won’t hurt you

Also maybe batch similar tasks? Like dedicate one day just to social media stuff instead of switching between podcast editing and website tweaks constantly. Your brain will thank you

You got this, just gotta give yourself permission to be a little messy at first

What you’re describing sounds less like poor planning and more like too many things being treated as equally urgent.

You already have a business that works. You also have a family, a second child, and a finite amount of energy. Layering a second business, a podcast, a website, SEO, and social strategy on top of that would overwhelm almost anyone, even if the idea itself is solid.

One thing that helped me (and people I’ve seen in similar spots) was realizing that an endless to-do list isn’t actually a planning problem. It’s a prioritization and containment problem. When everything lives in your head or on one big list, your brain never gets to rest because nothing ever feels “done.”

You don’t need to slow down because you’re failing. You probably need to slow down because you’re trying to build too many parts of the same thing at once.

      It’s completely reasonable to say:

this quarter is just about getting one piece live

this year is about exposure, not polish

some things don’t get touched until the next season of life

Also, it’s okay if the side business moves at a pace that fits your family right now instead of the pace social media implies it should move.

You’re not overwhelmed because you lack discipline. You’re overwhelmed because you care, you’re capable, and you’ve taken on a lot at once.
