I'm working on inventorying my home and belongings in a spreadsheet and want to know what adjusters (in the US) look for. Item and price seems the bare minimum, but I've heard the more specific I can be the better. Model and serial numbers required for big items like televisions? Do you care more about purchase price (with receipts) or depreciated price at today's value (and how do you calculate that)? How granular do you want the organization; room by room, one long list, etc. I've worked hard to get to where I am and would be absolutely distraught if something happened and I couldn't provide the information needed. I live in a tornado alley and every spring, I get more and more nervous about not having something on hand.

Looking for guidance from adjusters on what to submit for a claim package
