I've been a gold and silver investor all my life. My grandpa lived through the Great Depression and didn't trust stocks and banks. He told me to store wealth in gold and silver. Even as other family members and financial advisors told me "stocks only".
And hey, there's nothing wrong with stocks but I did really well with gold and silver, especially this year. I watched Bitcoin for many years and heard the same dismissive comments about it so I ignored it, didn't understand it, wasn't worth the risk.
I finally started paying attention because our President was talking about it and BlackRock launched an ETF, so it felt more legitimate to me, it was here to stay, not beanie babies. Also the young people at work seem to love it. I never hear them talk about silver, even though it doubled in price this year.
I noticed BTC was down a few months ago and decided to buy a little on the dip. A small purchase became several more. Suddenly it was making sense, I own this asset forever, digitally. Digital Gold.
All of a sudden it reminded me of Facebook in the early days, something small for a few people, then bigger and now everyone and their grandma is on it. Google, Apple, Microsoft all had massive volatility, and were declared "dead" many times before becoming the massive companies they are today.
With gold, silver, and stocks at all time highs, and bitcoin being down it felt like the perfect time to rotate assets. I've been told never tell your business online, and may delete this later, but I have no one else to talk to about this so thought I'd share.
Anyway, glad to be here and see where this goes.
I'm old and late to the party, but just went all-in. Here's why.

Good to have you in the family 🙂 Keep stacking sats!
Welcome aboard!
I’m old too, another atypical btc hodler. It’s fun! Welcome to the ride.
Welcome, hope BTC works out well for you. We all believe it will.
Yes it is time to rotate assets in 2026.
Word to the wise
You have to be able to stomach the 30-60% drawdown on BTC
It’s just the nature of the beast and it’s cycles. Yes it’s had a poor year, but in reality you don’t know what’s ahead and it’s a risk asset that can turn old on the flip of a. Switch
Moving from gold and silver is a big switch. I suggest if you truly don’t need the money. Do not check the price of Bitcoin every day. Think of this as a 5-10+ year investment
Just be prepared for the “wow I’m down bad” moment. Best not to look at it during that time other than buying a little more.
Ahhh… wisdom has arrived fashionably late, like a Nigerian prince in a private jet with a delayed wire transferÂ
“Your grandfather trusted gold, you trusted patience, and now you’ve discovered digital gold… welcome, my friend. You are not late… you are early with better snacks.”
Just be ready for a lot more volatility and keep savings so you aren’t forced to sell at a bad time. We dunno where the bottom is and how long bear will last.
Welcome! You’ve certainly nailed the “why” piece of Bitcoin. “How” and “what” are important, too…. Do you hold your own keys and run your own node?
Anyone actually use bitcoin as daily life? I invested in it too with small amount.
