Hey all, with the Ukraine Russia situation, and reports that 1.1M barrels of Venezuelan crude ended up in the US, oil prices are bouncing around a lot. Makes you wonder how this is affecting operations on the ground.

I am mostly curious about something more specific. With mature wells dealing with paraffin buildup, does anyone think the current market volatility or shifts in supply are changing how hot oiling is impacting production? Could it make wax buildup worse, or cause formation issues?

Out of curiosity, we ran a chemical alternative on a 10,400 ft well recently, and production went from around 3 bbl a day to 10 to 11, sometimes hitting 18, and it has held steady for 90 plus days. Just wondering if anyone has seen similar effects, or has thoughts on balancing hot oiling, formation health, and production in today’s environment.

1.1M barrels from Venezuela, Ukraine conflict, anyone seeing effects on well wax issues?

Idk what the Venezuelan/Ukrainian crudes have to do with paraffin deposition in wells in the US. Or how market volatility affects hot oiling and/makes wax buildup worse.

Maybe I don’t understand the question but yeah, treating with paraffin inhibitors is definitely going to increase production of paraffin is the problem. Sometimes folks mistake emulsion or other things for a paraffin problem.
