So long story short, an employee accidentally lit our place ablaze this weekend. Still in shock and processing all this. Based on initial estimates, we are looking at close to a seven figure loss on paper.

Because I had an employee working on one of our trucks which started it, do I need an attorney? I’m meeting with my insurance agent and fire Marshall, I just don’t know what I should say or shouldn’t?

It was a genuine accident, and no one was hurt. I’m just trying to gauge what my risks are as well as look out for my employee. Although it was an accident, is there any trouble he could get into?

Should I hire an attorney? Just trying to look at this from all angles. I’m firing the employee, but I don’t wish any jail time for him by all means
