According to the Revolut app, if you invest 1k euro every month into the VUAA etf (sp500 accumulated) you’ll end up with +2mil in capital.

A quick ask to chatGPT brings me back to around 500k capital after 20 years. Is Revolut not accurate at all or am I missing something in my reasoning?

Is Revolut earning forecast on ETF accurate?

    1. What is the average return Revolut is claiming YoY? It could be ChatGPT went more conservative and Revolut (obviously) is stretching it to get you to buy in.

    2. It probably states on the page exactly how they got that number, just look.

Investing 1000 monthly at 8% for 34 years will get you there.

Investing 1000 monthly at 17% will get you there in 20 years.

Please note that anyone predicting the future is “not accurate” because no one can predict the future.

*Everything is a HYPOTHETICAL future projection.* You do not know for certain what the returns of the S&P 500 will be for the next 1, 5, 10, 20 years etc.

You will get wildly different 20-year results depending on what average return rate you *assume* over that time frame.
