I’m 33F and recently separated from my husband. I started working December 5th and until Jan 1st I’ll be covered under the health plan my ex was paying for for the family.

Luckily my daughter qualified for Medicaid but I do not. I looked into Ambetter, which is kinda shitty, but it allowed me to go to the dr as needed, to the dentist, and get my glasses. It would be $600 just for me.

Figuring up my yearly income based off what Medicaid gathered from my boss I’ll likely make around $14,784 a year. I can’t afford $600 a month. I know my local walk-in clinic does a sliding scale at least but my glasses and dental care will likely be out the ass. I have high eye pressure tho so it’s a priority and my teeth as well.

I’m also supposed to be seeing a therapist soon, have a neuro… a gastro.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone have recs for affordable health, vision, dental bundles?

    1. The only place for health insurance is Healthcare.gov. There is no other place. If your state has it’s own marketplace Healthcare.gov will redirect you there. Right now subsidies are not funded past the end of the year so that puts you in a tough place.

Dental and Vison are not worth it, especially if you are low income. You can get decent quality glasses online for under $30 and can normally find eye exams for less than $75. That is less than what you will pay for insurance. With dental try and find a community college that will do it at a reduced rate.
