It's difficult to sustain shit like that, unless you something that I don't.

No sleep/eat/train/socialize BS. Something more unorthodox, not meat-and-potatoes.

For me it's Huberman's morning light routine. Not sure how well-known he's here, but that shit's a blessing. Since i started getting sunlight (or staring at a lamp) my overall capacity and stability levels have increased dramatically.

Also, 1 hour "buffer" time – my time, first thing in the morning. Walk alone in silence with my own thoughts, meditate, journal a bit. Clear my head, reorient on what matters the most, while trying to avoid obsessing about it (yeah, I know). If I start skipping this or cutting it short, my performance and quality of life start inching down. 100%.

No gadgets, obviously, but if I were you I'd push gadgets at least until noon, if not even past 1-2pm. If there's something truly critical or urgent they will get a hold of, don't worry. Shield your damn energy and focus, that's the only things you've truly got. Time has no value if you have attention span of a toddler.

    1. Religious circadian rhythm ensuring. I started learning a lot about it from r/14H recently – an excellent source of knowledge on circadian rhythms

Most “12h/7d” isn’t sustainable unless it’s a short sprint or they outsource a ton. What’s your deep-work vs admin split, and what kind of business are you doing?

    3. I love working. So my basic rule is that I at least do 50% of the time the type of work that I love and I’m good at. I (almost) never fill days with 100% shitty tasks.

I do have some sleep issues when I work till late at night on fun (but complex) things.

I do value my weekends, or at least friday evening and saturday with friends and the girlfriend. On sunday I only try to organize the next workweek (make something like a todo with the big things). I have no work email or work apps installed on my phone. I can only receive work related messages when I choose to open my laptop and open the mail client. That helps a lot with being actually there with friends and not worry about things you can’t do anything about at that moment anyway. Only business partners whatsapp me with important stuff over the weekends (which is not often, and is not being misused).

    4. My result: high blood pressure and cholesterol. Not to mention room sciatica and tennis elbow. It works for a season and then it will literally kill you.

The answer is ❄️ or 💃or 🚄. They aren’t breaking the laws of humanity. Just hiding their power ups.
