Looks like majority of apartment complexes are owned by private companies (like CWS Apartment Home) rather than public REITS. What would be the most straightforward way to invest in them for an ordinary investor, like throwing $400-500 a month?
I'd imaging I can't do that with hedge or private equity funds, but is there any other options?
