Rental car minor damage advice

Hello, looking for some info for someone else. They have a car rental and while backing up they slightly damaged the tail light and caused a scratch on back by hitting a post. They did purchase CDW will they be covered?

They still have the car for a another week or so should they still report the damage now or upon return? Whats the best course of action here?
