I've had the Chase Sapphire Reserve for 5 years. It was good up until June. I used to get 3x points on all travel purchases, but now they only give you extra points on travel purchases booked through Chase Travel. So Airbnbs, only 1x points. Also priority pass is getting worse and worse – nothing good at LAX or DEN, which I go to frequently. They also raised their annual fee from $550 to $795…

Obviously there are still perks. $300 travel credit. Dashpass. Apple TV. Apple music (definitely don't need that though because I use spotify). And some other ones. 3x points for dining out, which I don't do as often anymore. I think I'm gonna switch to the Freedom card for now so I can transfer my points, MAYBE upgrade to preferred.

But also very open to different travel credit cards. Perks I want – extra points for all travel related purchases. Not just things through the portal.

Is there any other travel credit card that anyone can recommend?

United Clubs at LAX and DEN are quite nice. United Club card if you fly with United often. Amex has lounges there and offers 5x on flights booked directly with airlines, but you don’t earn much unless booking hotels on Amex Portal. BofA PRE has a very broad travel category, which is what you are looking for, but it’s only worth it if you have Preferred Rewards status. You can get 20% discount using points to book flights through BofA portal, $300 airline credit and $150 lifestyle credit every calendar year.

Amex lounges at LAX are almost always at capacity during peak flying hours—FYI. If you go for the plat be ready to wait

      Need more info
      What airlines you fly
      What hotels you stay at
What do you spend money on

These are why ppl recommend using the template

    4. CSR should drop Apple and offer YT premium like AMEX does. Its so frustrating to search for shows and then I have to pay to watch everything. Not happy at all with Apple TV. I am b/w the CSR and Citi Strata Elite. CSE offers better Airline partners and Chase has the better hotels, mostly Hyatt. I was set to close the CSR but with the horrible hotel transfer options with Citi, I am going to split usage b/w these cards in 2026 and try to make a final decision in 2027. Citi would be the winner in your case because they are 1.5 for Travel which beats Chase 1x.

You really only have two excellent options as every other card offers lower bonus or leaves something on the table.

      * Wells Fargo Autograph – $0 Annual Fee – 3X on dining, EV charging/gas stations, phone plans, streaming, transit, and travel

      * American Express Green Card – $150 Annual Fee – 3X on dining, transit, and travel

FYI, the Freedom doesn’t allow for transferable points. Only the CSP, CSR, and Ink Preferred

    7. As u/Tradewinds_travel said, amex green is a good solution.

Can transfer to Hilton, Delta and bunch of other major airlines.

Wf autograph is no AF though

    8. I am in my first year using Amex BCP, we buy air bnb gift cards with groceries for 6% back on the total spend. Going to use this method for the next year. All other travel arrangements are booked through whatever gives us the most points/return back which as of recently was Chase Freedom Unlimited. The chase card is one I’ve had for over 5 years. Just added AMEX to expand on points/cash back.

    9. Venture X. I’ve had it since Jan 2024 and have gotten a great deal of value from the lounge access and being able to earn 2x on everything but all the higher multipliers are earned through the portal.

I’ve heard great things about the Wells Fargo Autograph which earns 3x on gas, transit, and streaming. If you don’t mind a small $95 annual fee, the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey earns 5x on hotels, 4x on airlines, and 3x on all other travel categories.

I just added the CSR to my setup (this week) to take of advantage of the elevated SUB (125K Chase points for $6K of spend in 3 months) and an additional set of credits for December / 2025 that will refresh next year. I also don’t mind using travel portals for extra points. Despite this, I’ll downgrade this card to the preferred after year 1.
