    2. The problem with WARN notices is that many companies game them. They are required to file them 60 days before the layoff is performed. However many companies get around this by performing layoffs the day of or within 2-3 days of the WARN notice and then give the employee 60+ day severance. Very common in the tech industry, which is why I suppose there aren’t that many tech firms listed, but you know massive layoffs are coming regardless.

      Elon is directly responsible for cutting millions of dollars of US research, which translates to millions of dollars of required equipment and materials. Any pharma, medical, or biomed engineering layoffs, amongst others, are strictly due to DOGE. I see ABBV right there at the top of the list. Don’t discount the numerous smaller companies who don’t have enough employees to necessitate WARN, or the many unscrupulous ones who will keep their numbers below the reporting threshold and have multiple rounds of layoffs.
