    1. Interesting. Not sure I will ever support trump’s action here or in other areas, but this really has a chance to change things for many. At least absent trump’s involement.

Have long wanted a more integrated Hemisphere, but not like this. Plus almost everything trump touches turns to chit.

    2. At least now we know why Trump abruptly shut down solar and wind projects, even late stage already under construction ones. In April 2024 he publicly offered to tear down environmental regs and do the oil industry’s bidding if they gave $1 Billion to his campaign. Chevron, Exxon, Occidental and 17 other majors were in the same room – the very same ones he now says are headed back into Venezuela.

I actually lived in Venezuela a couple years, many there slow burn hate America imperialism, while also hating Maduro, so we’ll see how this unfolds.
Endless sources lest anyone think I’m making this stuff up:

Is everyone just forgetting or not paying attention to that the regime in Venezuela is still there? He only took out one guy, while leaving the entire government and military structure intact. As of right now, Trump still has no legal or economic authority in Venezuela. The only way he is going to get it is by actively invading the country.

lol. Article thing the American people are going to actually see a dime form that oil. Only one getting rich here is Trump and oil companies.

The only thing that will happen is subsidizing the location, infrastructure, manufacturing of the oil and then the Oil Companies will just pocket the profits. The price of oil and then in turn fuel will not decrease for the American consumers. It is just CORPORATE WELFARE yet again. The exact same trick corporations have been doing for decades now.

    6. Maduro was a bad guy who ignored the results of his last election that he lost. He was able to stay in power due to a corrupt system.

Trump is a bad guy who ignored the results of the 2020 election he lost. He tried to stay in power by sending a mob to the Capitol but the system held. Not sure it will in 2029.

      Mixed feelings.

The price of oil is low now. How will driving it down even lower be good for oil companies worldwide? Seems like bankrupting oil producers and countries that depend on oil income is an important point that was not mentioned in this article.

What needs to be accounted for is the damage the administration is doing to the image of American international trade. Every week, for the past four months has had multiple headlines about the struggles the alcohol exports have been facing – and that’s a small sample of the effect of international goodwill. The front page of Reddit frequently features stories of farmers either regretting the Trump administration’s economic, or migrant workers policies.

Sure, sanctions on the subject of the actions in Venezuela will have less effect than a slap on the hand in the long run. That long run however will be massively affected by goodwill, and the self-centered militant attitude of modern conservatives is contrary to advertising American exports. For all the access to Venezuelan oil resources, the American economy could be reshaped far more negatively than the apologists who wrote the article foresee by casting the United States as lawless and despotic.

The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then The Bigfoot. 50:54 …The Germans covered it up. And so did we…And his ideas continued to do all the damage they could possibly do without him…What he stood for was unstoppable. It was a costume, all part of a plan. The monster lived on. Now you know. Are you happy? I always did exactly what they said.

    10. With some new capital injected into Venezuelan oil fields im sure you could see huge production spikes over the coming years. This was all about securing a regional oil supply in the Americas closer to home and becoming less dependent on Middle East. This move also gives the USA bargaining chips in trade deals with china since they were receiving a lot of this Venezuelan oil. Manifest destiny all over again

    11. Not much, this is more a geo strategy move to kick out Russia and China influence out of the region or at least diminish it, stop them to keep milking Venezuela’s oil and resources like gold and to demonstrate a power hit to the rest of the countries in the region that has allign with China in the recent years, like saying: “hey look, where are your friends? china and russia? look how I do whatever I want here, so think twice your friendship decisions, remember, I am always going to be your best friend…”

Outside that, Venezuela is like 20 years behind of everything, they will need reconstruction, education, etc… maybe the US/EU oil company stocks will jump once they start getting on board with the “make Venezuela great again” plan, but other than that its a Venezuela call if they want to take their country back out of those crooks.

Also there is a transition that needs to happen so we dont know whats going to happen with that.
