I’m 22 and have been working a full-time job for about 7 months now in real estate private credit. The money is decent, but honestly I really don’t like the job. I’m bored most days, siting through 12-hour days, and by the time I get home I’m completely drained. It feels like I’m just fighting through the week and then doing it all over again. I feel stuck in a rut.
And I know you may be thinking I’m a pussy because it’s only been 7 months, and maybe I am, but I just can’t fathom working for someone else for the rest of my life. I’ve realized I need to start building something on the side and eventually get out of working for someone else. I don’t have some big business idea yet, but I know I need to start moving in that direction. The only thing I really know well and have always been interested in is real estate. I’ve been into it since I was 17 and studied it in college.
I’m trying to figure out what I should actually be doing in my free time to build momentum.
What would you focus on at my age?
What skills or side hustles are worth investing time into?
How do you break out of the work all week, exhausted, repeat cycle?
Are there any side business’ I should be looking into right now ?
22 years old, decent job, miserable. Where should I focus to build something on the side?

Are all real estate jobs 12+ hour days? Because going from that to 10 or 8 hours is a massive QoL improvement
22 is not special at all when it comes to build anything. try hard on whats already given, instead of asking people where the oasis is
