I don’t really know where else to go and I don’t know how to navigate through this. I feel terrible and things have been so rough. I’m tired and everyone is just devastated. We have lost everything. We have to sell the house, sell the cars, file for bankruptcy.

My mom’s company is called SalsaQueen, I don’t know what you guys have heard about her, of if you know the brand. Either way, no matter what, It was very very successful, we had started with doing farmers markets, small local shops, and built our way really high. All 7 of the kids have helped since day 1.

My mom is such a strong woman. She grew up in Mexico literally living on the streets, and in the past 11 years, she built this company up to as good as it could get, I mean we were in Costco and every local store in Utah. She raised 7 kids all by herself and even lost a kid due to lukemia.

She made the American dream real, I mean seriously, she proved it to so many people.

Unfortunately they had some snarky investors come in and try to buy the buisness and they kinda fucked the whole company over, I don’t know all the details.

And this economy is just failing everyone.

I don’t think anyone deserves this. Im sorry if I came to the wrong place for this but, it’s a shot in the dark to get some help somehow.

    1. No one can help you if this is failing because of mismanagement, poor investor diligence, etc.
      That’s out of anyone’s control.

I don’t know how investors coming in with intent to purchase would lead to bankruptcy. There’s a TON missing from this story.

    2. She sold to investors? Or did she try to receive funding from investors? It’s not normal for investors to be able to come in and hose a business… It’s in their best interest for the business to succeed so they get an ROI. I feel like we’re missing important information here.

While it really sucks and I really don’t know enough specifics to give any good feedback, see if she can either buy out the investor guy if he owns part of get company.

Or start a new salsa brand that’s just her doing almost the same thing but change a few little things so it’s not the same thing and she just never get an investor again

    4. sorry to hear, not much you can do when other people get control and mess things up. im not letting anyone else have that kind of control anymore

    5. Sorry to hear about the business failing. I’ve heard about the salsaqueen and tried it. It is a good salsa.

Are you looking to vent or help? There’s some details I think we need some more information on like sales not hitting, too much inventory or just bad investment, etc.

    6. Never mind the investors quite literally have nothing to do with this specific situation. It’s ALL because they aren’t getting enough sales.

Who said it was because they weren’t getting enough sales? Let this be a learning moment. As a sole business owner you answer to yourself, you know what you will do to weather any storm, but when outside investors come in, you now have to answer to them. And they have no emotional attachment. Have the business file for bankruptcy(not her personally) and start again.
