Damaged my side mirror: photo estimate vs body shop?

Overnight someone hit my driver-side mirror in a hit-and-run. The mirror is still attached but snapped and dangling. No other visible damage.

The car is a 2023 Honda Ridgeline. I have Wawanesa insurance with a $500 deductible, and I’m fairly sure the total repair cost will be under that, meaning I’ll likely pay out of pocket either way.

Wawanesa gave me two options to get an estimate:

1. Upload photos of the damage
2. Take the car to an in-network body shop for an in-person estimate

If I’m trying to minimize my out-of-pocket cost, does it matter which option I choose?
