The whole Venezuela play was more than Oil and critical Minerals, was to force China’s hand sooner or gain an advantage over China.
So far Chinese were able to defend against US Tariffs, as well as take an internal hit but portray external strength. Venezuela will try and force Chinese for concessions.
So far critical Minerals, rare earth materials were the biggest road block and leverage with China. Now, with Venezuela Oil, China will be forced to pivot, with Russia already in trouble with sanctions, China would be forced to use the Petro dollar with any other country they import from.
China gets oil from a lot of places, including Russia and Iran. The biggest loser here, as far as Venezuelan oil exports are concerned, is Cuba.
