Nvidia on Monday unveiled plans to launch a robotaxi service with a partner as soon as 2027, highlighting the chipmaker’s ambition to become a major player in the world of self-driving cars.
The service would be offered with a partner, and would employ cars with “Level 4” driving, meaning they’d be capable of driving without human intervention in pre-defined regions.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has said that robotics, including self-driving cars, is the company’s second most important growth category after AI.

What happened to do one thing and do it well? Hubris like this brings down companies.
FSD capabilities will be a commodity, so either we have an app for Waymo, an app for Robotaxi and an app for Nvidia or people just order these on Uber still… if I’m wasted outside a bar and want to go home I know what I’m doing
He called Musk: “Hey bro, how to pump my stock up”. Musk: “Robotaxi, and AI robot” to the moon.
So why exactly is Tesla worth 1.5 trillion when they have all this competition now and still haven’t released one fully autonomous vehicle?
Value destruction. They should just pay dividends and call it a day. Early sign that the bubble is near max inflation.
So who is the partner? UBER?
What can they offer to car companies except chips? Seems like a weak selling point for partners to give up even more of their already slim margin
Nvidia has decided to compete against Google.
