A big reason why I am getting into business for the purpose of trying to eventually minimize the amount of time I work. I've always thought if you hired employees to run the systems for you, you would have little work to do and lots of free time. I've heard this actually isn't true, and most business owners with a full team are still working more than 40 hours per week.

How much work do you have to do as a turn-key business owner?

We get out of a 9-5 to work a 24hr shift 7 days a week on our own schedule.

Like another person said always working and never working.

I’m also a firm believer in the 10yr rule.

It depends how good you are at delegating, systematizing, and executing. In 10 years, you may still be grinding or you may have a great team in place – either way, expect to grind for the first few years at least if you’re starting from scratch. If you’re buying something with a team in place, you very well may have dodged some of the grinding phase.
