As you can tell from the ticker charts, drones are in the hype again, and it's deserved as the sector will only increase getting utilized until a new form of warfare is invented. I made money off of $ONDS today but I've started rethinking the choice within the industry. I'm starting to do research between these four unprofitable companies at the moment:

$AVAV – By far the most established and closest to turning profitable, high Inst Ownership, all for less room to grow. Also high Insider Ownership however. Zero hype.

$ONDS – Contender for worst financials in my opinion, by far the highest hype value. Very low Insider and Inst Ownership. Feels very overvalued but will never buy puts.

$RCAT – Meh financials. Medium Inst and Insider Ownership. Hype but I don't agree. The ticker is there but I can't see the point.

$UMAC – Newest, smallest, highest potential for growth. Currently horrible financials, and easily the best return if they all perform the same, but Trump Jr. advisory board sellout scares me a lot and I can't bring myself to trust it.

+ Definitely should have included $AMPX

I'd love to hear y'alls thoughts on them and any additions you might have to the screener.

    1. I’m pretty skeptical of jumping into drone stocks right now just because they’re having a moment. This feels like one of those situations where by the time regular people like us are reading about “the drone hype,” the real money has already been made.

If I had to pick from your list, $AVAV being closest to profitability with high insider ownership is the least scary option to me. When insiders have skin in the game, that’s at least *something*. The “less room to grow” thing isn’t necessarily bad – I’d rather have steady growth than gamble on which unprofitable company might moon.

$ONDS having the worst financials but highest hype is basically a red flag factory. Hype without fundamentals is how people lose their shirts.

But honestly I don’t know any men who go regularly to their financial advisor either (kidding… mostly). I’m not really a stocks person, more of a “watch from the sidelines and occasionally panic about my 401k” type. So take my opinion with a huge grain of salt

    2. I see ONDS pumped so much on Reddit so definitely agree about the hype on that one. I’m in AVAV and AMPX.

    3. I’d stick with $AVAV for safety and maybe $UMAC if you’re feeling risky.. $ONDS just feels like hype and $RCAT kinda meh

Both ONDS and RCAT have less than 150 employees with large projected revenue and market share. I frankly don’t understand how either of them would be able to ramp production enough to meet demand, especially considering a good portion of those employees are marketing, procurement, engineering and management. It takes time to build factories, secure contracts for materials, and train employees, so while they could get awarded large military contracts it would take a substantial amount of time to ramp production. That being said, I mentioned this earlier on WSB and was told I’m stupid, so they will both probably be the next NVIDIA.

      I hold both $ONDS and $DRO.
Both are high volatility stocks and currently suits to my portfolio.
$ONDS is guidance is huge for 2026. Acquisition is going good. Integration topic, not yet raised. I am counting up to $20 and they might survive if they deliver the numbers. But doesn’t have potential to go higher without deep integration between all those companies.
