I really don't know what is happening over at Citi. They constantly have tech issues that make them so frustrating to deal with.
The actual hard product is decent. I like the new strata cards but the technology is atrocious. The latest is that currently all points transfers to partners are not working as of early this morning. Each agent keeps giving me random timelines of "few hours" or "later tonight" and now finally an agent told me 3-5 business days for a fix. I find it absolutely outrageous that a major bank has a high severity issue and they are saying they won't be able to fix for 3-5 business days. My travel plans were for 2 days from now so I guess I'll just go kick rocks.
As someone in the tech industry, I can't understand this. I also read they recently poured some $12B dollars and then hired some ex-consultant from PwC to lead their technology and modernization work. That's so insane. Only a company stuck in the 50s would hire an ex consultant to do this work. I bet the new grads hired at a tech company know more about system design and architecture than a boomer consultant.
So frustrating.
Why is Citi Bank's technology so antiquated and useless
