The hands on test reveals Nvidia’s AI powered Drive platform is impressive.

Nvidia’s Drive platform emphasizes predictability, safety, and modularity, contrasting Tesla’s more aggressive, end to end neural network approach. It’s designed for automakers and fleet operators, not direct to consumer use like Tesla FSD. For this reason, I disagree with the assertion within the article’s title at this time.

The Verge’s test ride in a prototype vehicle showed smooth lane changes and merges, cautious behavior at intersections, and strong handling of complex urban scenarios.

Nvidia’s platform runs on its Drive Thor chip, a next-gen AI processor designed for autonomous workloads. The system uses sensor fusion, combining lidar, radar, and cameras, for redundancy and reliability, unlike Tesla’s camera only approach.

Nvidia is not building its own car but aims to power other automakers’ autonomous systems. Partners include Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, and Hyundai, who are integrating Nvidia’s tech into upcoming models.

I tested Nvidia’s Tesla Full Self-Driving competitor and Tesla should be worried

    1. Emperor_of_All on

Tesla should be more concerned that Elon is trying to make it seem like they are going to lead robotics and the very real leader in robotics Boston Dynamics owned by Hyundai is beating them to the punch.

If Elon was smart he would have not announced anything until they were in mass production.

But TSLA is the product. But it looks like they are about to lose every market they are “entering”

    2. This is silly. Elon literally posted on X, hoping for their success. I don’t think he’s worried.
