Solar power overtakes coal and gas in Germany, a country with little sun due to its high latitude. Solar is now its second-most prevalent source of electricity, behind wind. So why is the US, with some of the best solar resources in the world, having such a tough time?

Because the GOP is inextricably linked with money from fossil fuel companies.

You’d think that this was common knowledge by now but i guess not.

because we’d rather dig energy out of the ground than acknowledge the huge, blinding fusion reactor in the sky that’s been screaming at us for hundreds of thousands of years, “FREE FUCKING ENERGY IDIOTS! “

Since sodium-based batteries are starting to come online, I foresee solar experiencing even more growth.

The newest solar panels absorb more of the energy in UV than before. UV is why you can get a sunburn on a cloudy day. These new solar panels can charge up battery-to-grid facilities with huge sodium batteries, to smooth-out energy harvesting to grid demand.

Because we have an idiot of a President that seems to think that coal is the answer, it’s needed for all the locomotives. Next he’ll try to bring back telegraphs.

We also have a government that’s in the hip pocket of the oil industry, so no alternative will be funded until this Administration is gone.
