What are you missing with the trifecta?

A simple 2% cash back is always an option if there’s nothing glaringly absent.

A good dining/grocery card and possibly Inks? I personally went with Amex Gold and Business Blue Plus for my catch all since I don’t have and can’t seem to get the CFU.

Citi Custom Cash is an obvious one. You can use it for groceries 3 quarters of the year and something else when the CFF covers it. If you spend more than $500 a month on groceries there’s the AAA Daily Advantage Visa and the PayPal debit card. There are also some good options for gas like Wells Fargo Autograph for 3X and some overlapping transfer partners. The US Bank Altitude Connect earns 4X on gas but no transfer partners so it’s basically 4%. There are also good gas cards from Costco and Sam’s Club that earn 4-5% cash.

    4. Amex BCP for 6% grocery and streaming, Citi Custom Cash for 5% gas (or another category), USB Shopper+ for 6% at 2 retailers, and Citi Custom Cash for 2% misc.

If the Bilt rumors are true on the $95 card with 3x grocery, then that would be a good fit. Earns travel points with very similar transfer partners.

Just need a grocery card for the 3 months of the year it isn’t a Freedom category. Paypal debit is my choice for this.

    7. Chase Trifectas weak spots are gas and groceries. BCP gets 6% off groceries and 3% on gas. This rounds out my wallet. And if you play it right you can get the BCP for 0 AF every year.

If you are going all in on the Chase ecosystem consider the Chase Ink Cash. Get Visa or Mastercard GCs at Staples/Office Depot/Office Max when they run no activation fees and use those at the grocery store, Target, etc as a round about way to get 5x on groceries.

    9. Have Chase trifecta with CSP now. Using Publix Pay for 3% groceries there and C1 Savor One for 3% back on groceries elsewhere. Citi Costco for 5% on Costco gas.
