Hello! I already have a debit card with chase, but I wanted to get my first CC. I heard that Discover is good for its benefits for college students, but Chase is good for building a relationship with the company. I already have a checking account with Chase, so should I get Discover?? Thank you!

Rise imo. It’s a Visa so everyone accepts it. Also gets auto-upgraded to a genuinely good card after a year.
Discover It is a decent side option whenever the categories are good but is weaker as a main card. All other Discover cards all kinda suck so building that bank relationship doesn’t mean much
One thing nice about Freedom Rise is that once it auto-upgrades to a Freedom Unlimited, it can be product changed to a Freedom with Ultimate Rewards. From there it’s almost a guarantee to then be approved for Freedom Unlimited with a SUB.
Chase Freedom Rise doesn’t compete with the Discover IT student or the Capital One Savor student. Not worth a 5/24 slot.
You have been building a relationship through your bank account/debit card. Check the pre-approval for the Freedom Unlimited or the Freedom Flex.
Discover IT for sure. Rise has terrible rewards.
