I’m 17 years old in sixthform balancing 3 alevels and sport. I’ve been looking for a skill to learn that would help me on later in life. People have mentioned learning ai proficiency, sales, content creation and such and I’m looking at learning n8n to try and both make a bit of money by selling my services and understand how ai and the internet works for the future.
Is this something I should consider taking up or is there something else I should look at?

Someone said it and I will echo them if you feel it comes naturally and you are into it do it but if you force yourself you’re not helping yourself
At 17 everything is worth learning.
I thought myself COBOL at 13. It was already considered a dead language, but I found a compiler and a text book at a used bookstore and just wanted to figure it out.. A decade later, I was making $175 an hour doing freelance debugging for Y2K. (I had a security clearance from the military, so could take choice jobs).
Yes. It can help you understand automating processes which is valuable to companies currently. Its a good visual start to a more complex solution that you can grow into.
I’m a bit biased because I work in tech, but:
Learn how to make and deploy websites with an emphasis on hosting it yourself via a cloud service. It could be something simple like pushing out a WordPress site on a Lightsail instance with a DNS record pointing to the right server.
The reason I recommend this over AI is:
* I work in tech right now and to be honest I don’t see the ROI on AI skills as it currently exists. There’s been a lot of hype from in the technical space I’m in, very little returns to justify the costs.
* Web dev and devops skills are much more universal to businesses. Double so if you want to start your own small business. Practically every business needs a web presence these days.
* You can save yourself so much money in your early stages doing it yourself. You can cut your infrastructure/hosting bills by over half and almost eliminate dev costs by doing it yourself for maybe some hours worth of work.
17 is too late, you missed the train. way too late to learn anything, just put the fries in the bag.
