If you’re considering joining this organisation—please read this before you sign that offer letter. 🚨
Throwaway account. Former employee here.
After struggling for a couple of years, I finally left a workplace that completely destroyed my mental and physical health. I’m sharing this anonymously because I genuinely don’t want anyone else to go through what I did.
Before anything else, let me be very clear: this post is not about just one role.
This applies across the organisation—advisory, quality, operations, and even roles closely working with leadership.
As a client-facing company, I would actually recommend them. Their customer service is strong and they are extremely customer-focused. As a customer, you’ll likely have a great experience.
As an employee? Please do not join. Ever.
Everything looks attractive in the job description—growth, learning, culture, work-from-home flexibility. The reality inside is completely different. The environment is deeply toxic and mentally exhausting. Performance pressure is constant, and fear is used as a management tool.
Leadership openly threatens termination for underperformance and even implies that they will give negative background verification feedback if someone doesn’t “cooperate.” This creates a culture where people are scared to speak up or even take basic time off.
I was a high-performing employee and was even in line for a promotion. That came at the cost of working 12–13 hours a day, six days a week. There is only one weekly off, and even on that day, calls and work requests are common. Holidays are regularly ignored—especially if you’re in any role other than advisory.
For those considering advisory roles: do not believe claims of “no sales targets.”
There are strict targets in every department. The pressure is intense, regardless of role.
I joined as an advisor and later moved to another domain (I won’t specify which, for obvious reasons). Along with me, eight people joined during probation. By the time probation ended, only four remained. Within three months, just two. Within six months, I was the only one left.
One major reason people don’t resign immediately is the bond. If you leave before completing 15 months, you are expected to pay a large penalty. There are additional tactics that make exiting even harder, so many people stay despite wanting to leave.
I even reached a point where I thought being terminated would be easier than resigning. Instead, I was shifted to another domain—where the experience remained equally draining. I’ve seen others go through the same pattern: department changes, increased pressure, and eventual burnout-driven resignations.
The management style is demoralising.
Employees are made to feel incompetent. Leave approvals are extremely difficult. Office politics and favouritism are very real and directly impact workload and treatment.
Work from home is often marketed as a benefit. It is not. Boundaries disappear completely, and work seeps into every part of your day.
I’m stopping here for now.
If people want more details, I can share additional experiences—while staying anonymous.
For now, consider this a warning:
Do not join this organisation unless you’re prepared to sacrifice your mental peace. 🙂
Ditto Insurance – Best company as a client; Worst as an employee🚨

I left a very toxic organization that had destroyed my mental health as well. I’m sending you positive vibes. I did like insurance but got out of it because there are too many narcissistic sociopaths there.
I’m not afraid to name and shame the organization though – it was Hub International. I had a better experience and look back fondly at my other prior employer Chubb insurance
I had never heard of Ditto insurance but thank you.
